Keith Melanson | President

Keith-MelansonGraduated from Babson College with a BS in Finance and Investments and completed his MBA at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003, where he was inducted in to BGS. Keith is a Consultant for AustinCSI, where he works on the AT&T engagement. He is a ScrumMaster/Project Manager working on Agile projects with AT&T. Keith also serves as one of the Product Owners for an Agile transformation team within the PMO. Keith has been actively involved in the local chapter since 2009. Keith is currently the Chapter President and has previously held the other Officer Positions: Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

James-C-Barger-Picture1Graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University and completed the Executive MBA program at Kennesaw State University in 2004 where he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. James has been involved with the local Alumni Chapter of BGS since his induction and is currently serving as Vice President. “The diversity of topics and speakers at our monthly meetings is truly outstanding … ranging from presentations on metro transit development .. to discussion on global health care solutions. Each month’s meetings always bring something new and interesting.”

Ross Kenedy | Secretary

Ross has been involved in the Atlanta Alumni Chapter since 2010. “I find the Q&A’s with speakers and discussions between members are always interesting because we come from different fields and different industries.”

Ben Davis | Treasurer

Ben-DavisBen Davis – Graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership. Ben was inducted into BGS in 2011 when he completed his MBA also at Mercer University. He has been a member of the Atlanta Alumni BGS Chapter since his induction and became the chapter Treasurer in January 2013. “The monthly events provide an informal yet professional opportunity to connect personally with other business people and the leaders of the Atlanta business community. The value of being able to ask questions and hear the ideas and experiences presented by the speakers is priceless.”

Amos Smith | University Relations

Amos-SmithAmos L. Smith II serves as our Chairperson of University Relations, acting as our primary liaison with the colleges and universities in throughout metro Atlanta and the southern region. His primary responsibilities involve promoting the chapter and our speaker series to local collegiate chapters, scheduling representatives to speak at induction ceremonies, and creating networking events specifically geared for students. Amos received a degree in finance from Augusta State University (now Georgia Regents University) in May 2007, where he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma International. He is currently enrolled at Georgia State University, pursuing an accounting degree and plans to work in the public accounting sector as a tax accountant. His previous work experience includes Hands On Atlanta, where he served low-income communities as a team leader and two years in the medical insurance industry with Aflac Insurance and Sterling Health Plans.

Thomas Schroeder | Programs Thomas-SchroederGraduated with a BA in Math from Carleton College, with a JD in Corporate Law from Washington University in St. Louis, and with an MBA in Executive Management from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, where he was inducted in to BGS. He a charter member of the Atlanta Area Alumni Chapter, and is Past President and active for the last decade with the Program Committee. President Eisenhower said it all: “Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”

John Oakley | Membership JAO-Headshot-e1395880330993Semi-retired. Inducted in BGS while earning a BBA at Georgia State University. Completed MBA in finance after military service and early work experience. Worked in the jansan industry in sales and sales management for 30+ years at all levels including starting and managing a brokerage company for eight years. Retired as Director of Groups Programs for a division of United Stationers managing $300M in sales. Came out of retirement for a special assignment with a local Atlanta chemical company and stayed on for two years as general sales manager. Currently can be found either working as a “consultant’s consultant” on marketing programs and data management issues or working to develop a sustainable forestry program in middle Georgia.

Jeffri Epps | Nominating Chair & Past President JLE-11-04-e1395879932110Earned her Bachelors in Finance from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. She has attended Atlanta University graduating completing her MBA in Marketing and being inducted in to BGS. She has been been a part of the Atlanta Area Alumni chapter since it’s begging. She’s the recent past president and actively looking for future leaders as nominating chair. “The monthly speakers are like an extension of an MBA program; interesting topics, great input and interaction from the members. And, you don’t have to worry about grades.”
